Someone commented on a recent article for Project Reason about American's credulity about Heaven. I thought it was quite a good observation, what do you guys think? Here's what they said:
The concept of heaven is actually one of the most dangerous within a theist's arsenal. It allows for the disregard of life on earth, almost like this is a waiting area, or lobby so to speak. Many of the craziest serial killers or mass murderers believed in heaven & hell, it allowed for them to excuse themselves for taking someone's life. Atheists tend to want to protect life on earth more because it is all we know there to be. Why harm what is so precious?
